Best Charity Training Program

We are so excited to have been named the runner up for Endurance Magazine's 2014 Best Charity Training Program for Charlotte, NC and for the NC Triangle!

Endurance Magazine released it's fifth annual Best Of Awards this month. Readers voted in an online poll for their favorite places to shop, eat, buy gear, race, train and repair themselves from all the hard work involved with living an endurance lifestyle.

We would like to thank everyone that voted for us and congratulate the Best Of winners and finalists. We are all part of an amazing community!

Calling for Race Volunteers

The Ramblin' Rose Raleigh and South Charlotte triathlons are just around the corner. These races empower hundreds of women to do something they have never done before--finish their first triathlon. We are calling on our friends, families, and communities to help us provide volunteers for these amazing events.

Tri It For Life is a non-profit organization that help women cross the finish line at these races. As a Ramblin' Rose beneficiary, Endurance Magazine provides Tri It For Life with a donation for each volunteer that we provide.

Sign up to volunteer! You'll have a great time cheering these women on. Use the links below and make sure to put TIFL in the organization affiliation box.

Ramblin' Rose Raleigh on May 18th

Ramblin' Rose South Charlotte on June 1st

Volunteers Needed

Tri It For Life needs YOUR help to provide volunteers at local races. You don't have to be a current Tri It For Life member to volunteer on our behalf. Friends, family, co-workers, anyone can help out on race day. For each volunteer that signs up on our behalf, Tri It For Life receives a donation from the race organizers. It's a great opportunity to provide a smiling face to an athlete out on the course and help us provide training to some awesome women.

The Ramblin' Rose South Charlotte race has volunteers signing up now. Click on the link to sign up and make sure to put Tri It For Life as the organization you are affiliated with.

“The positivity that is instilled once you cross that finish line stays with you and spills over into daily life.”

I was initially recruited by friends to join “Tri It For Life” because I was looking for a big fitness goal to keep me motivated. I am constantly telling people that they can do it. I use my own personal story as motivation and proof that it’s possible. It’s fun to see the look on people’s faces when they find out that I was over 300 pounds when I did my first race. For me, the most memorable moment is always having my husband there to hang my medal on me after the race, but this year I also discovered how amazing it feels to pay it forward. I helped an old friend train for her first race, and can’t even begin to describe how awesome it was to see her cross that finish line.

“If I could tell people one thing to motivate them, it’s that the numbers on the scale shouldn’t hold you back. Get out there and find something fun that will keep you going. Weight loss is a just a good side effect to a healthy lifestyle. Be fit, and be happy first.”
